Description

There are only five suites at Nitani Lodge.  Tucked into the greenery on the banks of the Majali River lies Nitani Lodge. A quiet mecca in the middle of the wild, the camp lies elevated on stilts two metres above the earth (safely allowing elephants to browse almost within touching distance) and is entirely constructed of wood and timber. Lengthy walkways meander between the suites and the centralized facilities. The entire camp was designed for optimum appreciation of the bush (and not a single tree was cut down in the process).

Each of the five suites at Nitani are lavish. Mahogany woods, natural fabrics, indulgent finishes and romantic colors merge to present the seat of indulgent luxury in the most natural of environments. Permanent waterholes in the direct vicinity of the camp means that animals are invariably viewed from the suites themselves.

Each suite is air conditioned with a stunning bathroom en-suite. Relax in a bubble bath with a glass of champagne as you absorb the peaceful ambience of the bush surrounds. Or head outdoors to lounge at the private rock pool that flanks each of the rooms. These shaded havens have been specifically created with solitude in mind – an indulgent midnight dip under the starry sky is highly recommended!

Nitani also boasts a Honeymoon Suite which is both sumptuous (including a hand-carved king-sized bed) and private. Newly weds are treated to a complementary massage and a bottle of sparkling wine.

Attractions

In keeping with Nitani’s essence of Beauty, Serenity and Tranquility, the first class Wellness Centre was specifically designed to assist guests in the transition from the stress and pace of a contemporary world, to a state of utter calm and quiet. It is here that guests are pampered by a highly qualified therapist using one of the world leading salon products, Dermalogica.

Specialist treatments include hot stone therapy, reflexology, various customised facials, full–body massages, spa treatments such as mud wraps, mineral salt scrubs and hydration treatments, as well as waxing, manicures and pedicures.

Astronomy
Lie back and become one with a breathtaking African sky through a state of the art computerized telescope, where information on the ancient galaxies are at the touch of a button.

Bush Dinner
Guests to Nitani have the option of enjoying a dinner out in the bush – they are driven to a hilltop lit by sparkling lamps – the first impression on arrival casts an unforgettable memory of Africa. Diners enjoy delectable cuisine prepared on the open coals of a bush fire to the accompaniment of thrilling night sounds.

Please note, this activity is subject to the seasonal influences such as rains and strong winds.

Bush Walk
An entirely different way of appreciating the bush is on foot. During summer months, walks are conducted early morning, and in winter after breakfast .

The highly skilled ranger is a font of information, and is able to talk on a variety of subjects ranging from the medicinal uses of certain plants; interesting facts on the fauna and flora of the area and archaeology dating back to the Stone Age.

And if guests are lucky – they may get to enjoy close animal contact!

Game Drives
Guests are taken on morning and evening drives in open Land Rovers. With no more than 6 guests per vehicle, the safari experience is exclusive. Head out into the wilds of the Tuli Reserve, and discover a region of exciting animal life, magnificent plant life – and panoramic views guaranteed to take your breath away.

Facilities

Facilities within the camp include a secluded wellness centre, a dining area including a finishing kitchen where meals are prepared in open view, and with the participation of guests, the Sir Williams Bar area, a generously stocked wine cellar, an open-air boma where good company is shared around a blazing fire, an astronomy deck and a fully stocked safari boutique.
