DescriptionWelcome to Notting Hill Lodge. Set in the Midlands Meander where there is a multitude of Arts and Crafts. The Lodge comprizes ten (10x) en-suite suites, set in various buildings and settings. All suites have their own bathrooms, their own separate furnished patios, and their own separate external entrances. All the suites are different in furnishings and layout, yet all cover a high level of comfort and spaciousness. All suites have a full compliment of linen ( and spare blankets ), towelling, soaps, fans, and electric blankets ( with dual controls ). Each suite has it's own coffee facilities, 54-cm TV with SABC + 'e' + Mnet(open-time), selection of magazines, and patio furniture cushions. Five suites are in the main farm house, co-located with the guest lounge and dinning rooms - set into the English gardens. A new suite is set in an open garden amongst some fruit trees. The four Stables suites are upon a small bank - with the best views of the Balgowan valley and adjacent farms. The gardens and bush on the farm has been opened to allow free access to the buck ( plentiful ), and other wild animals that traverse the area.
Our personal opinionNotting Hill may not be a 5 star venue, but it has my vote as the most guest-orientated lodge in the Midlands. I think Graham is a true host and his food is scrumptious! The rooms are so cleverly designed and everything you need, you will find. There is no beating this Midlands venue – even the guests I have placed there rate it 10/10! Comment by Jennie As I arrived at Notting Hill Lodge the first time, I got the impression of a beautiful home and stunning garden, set in a picture frame. The peace and tranquillity was tangible. A lovely pool reflected the sunlight and everything was in such perfect harmony with the environment, that even deer and small animals roamed the grasslands. I found the reception at Notting Hill lodge pleasantly warm and friendly. The en suite rooms in the lodge are all different, lovely and spacious, the beds comfortable and inviting, children also welcome. At Notting Hill Lodge you can have breakfast, and on request dinner, done tastefully by the owner, cum chef. I was taken outside, and climbed a couple of steps to a terrace. Four stable en suite’s were nestled on the banks, with lovely stable doors, each has it’s own private entrance, with a beautiful view of the Balgowan valley and farmlands. To my surprise, Graham, the owner and host at Notting Hill Lodge, did the layout of the gardens and a lot of the building himself. A very talented man indeed! To top all of that, the lodge is centrally situated, to lots of art and craft and a nearby animal farm for the children to enjoy. Notting Hill Lodge is definitely one of my favourite places to stay at for a visit and meander to the Midlands. Comment by Pamela
