Tshukudu Game LodgeGame Lodge Limpopo with Big 5 Safari & focus on the Rehabilitation of Orphaned Animals
DescriptionTshukudu Game Lodge is a 3 star, full board safari lodge and is one of the few affordable safari lodges in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. 28 guests can be accommodated in the individually decorated chalets and rondawels all named after animals that have been raised or rehabilitated at Tshukudu. A special cottage at our 3 star safari lodge, named after Ed Bailey a guest and friend of the Sussens family, Ed's cottage has been designed to accommodate wheelchairs. And with the help of another friend, Neville Cohen, the important details of the cottage interior have been adjusted for maximum comfort. A third room is now available with wheelchair access. Each unit is air-conditioned.
AttractionsThe reserve that had started out with no animals turned into a thriving Big-Five game reserve. Animals can be spotted from 4x4 game drive vehicles, on the morning walk before breakfast or during our educational safaris bush walk. Tshukudu hosts a variety of game lodge activities and guests of all ages are welcome. We cater for disabilities in three wheelchair friendly cottages. The original farmhouse was restored and later improved with a large thatched terrace where we enjoy breakfast and lunch. Enjoy the birds under a lush Natal Mahogany with a fantastic view of the Drakensberg mountains from the extended veranda or during one of our educational safaris. Luxuriate at the swimming pool on a hot blistering day and enjoy the expansive view into the bushveld. An inviting cup of tea beckons, a delicious slice of sweet surprise and then guests are whisked away on 4x4 game drives in search of the elusive Big Five.
TGCSA Star Grading FacilitiesBesides committing their efforts to preserving a piece of nature and breeding lions to ensure healthy generations to come, the Sussens family has also developed a reputation for raising orphaned animals. No matter the size or shape, in our orphaned animal project all animals are welcomed and cared for until they are ready to survive on their own. Everything from birds and squirrels to elephants and giraffe have been given a second chance through our animal rehabilitation project. And the young lion cubs, Savannah the cheetah and all sorts of other animals have joined the morning walk in their time, making it the amazing experience it is today. |
