| The Cape Winelands of South Africa is a must to visit if not to taste the wide variety of wines, then to explore it's mountains, green valleys, historic tons and villages and to stay in the spacious, graceful homesteads that represent the very best of the Cape Dutch architectural design. The best way to explore is to follow a few of the wine routes. The estates welcome visitors and farms and some allow you to sample and buy their excellent wine on the spot. Most of the estates offer wine-tasting and tours, many have splendid restaurants, each has its own character, it's own distinctive attractions and our personal favourites are the numerous smaller privately owned vineyards with outstanding wines on offer. |
